Kenya has a long history of playing disc golf, with its first 9 hole course being installed at the University of Nairobi Science Campus in 2010. The course eventually closed due to vandalism and theft of the baskets.
There are also many international schools with baskets installed within their campuses, but they are understandably not open to the public.
In 2021, Kevin Becker began the process of installing a course on his wife’s family farm land. The online disc golf community encouraged him to reach out to the PDGA and the Paul McBeth Foundation, which ultimately led to him receiving a PDGA Marco Polo grant, and becoming Project 2.4 with the Paul McBeth Foundation in 2022.
His 18 hole course, The Reserve at Rimpa Estates, is currently the only course open to the public in Kenya.
Kevin Becker is the PDGA Country Coordinator for Kenya. He heads Disc Golf Kenya and acts as Kenya’s contact for ADGU.
